1. The service

People Brief researches legally accessible public professional information and organizes it into an evidence-linked preparation brief. Reports can be incomplete, outdated or mistaken. They are a preparation aid—not a definitive record, background check or professional recommendation.

2. Prohibited decisions and uses

You must not use this service for employment decisions, credit, housing, insurance eligibility, or any purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar consumer-reporting laws. The “Interview — I am the candidate” use case is for a candidate researching the people they expect to meet, not for screening a candidate.

You must not use the service to harass, stalk, discriminate, identify sensitive attributes, locate private contact details or circumvent access controls.

3. Public-source boundaries

We do not promise that a search will locate any particular fact or number of sources. An Expanded research pass commits to searching 30 or more public surfaces and performing additional diligence; it does not promise 30 findings or a longer report. Sparse research still results in a report.

4. Payments and credits

Payments are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Credits expire 12 months after purchase and are consumed when research begins.

Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

5. Access and retention

Reports remain accessible during their stated retention period. “Continued access” is not an immutable promise: verified deletion requests, legal duties, safety issues and enforcement of these terms take priority.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for confirming important facts directly, protecting report links, and complying with law. Do not republish a report as a dossier or use it to cause harm.

7. Corrections, removal and suspension

Named individuals may request access, correction, objection or deletion through the Removal request page. We may remove reports or suspend access while a request is verified.
